INVITATION TO A 2-DAY COURSE ON PUBLIC PROCUREMENT

You are hereby invited to a training/workshop on public procurement organized by our noble Academy, the Academy for Entrepreneurial Studies, Nigeria (AES).

Training Rationale
The 2010 budget, recently signed into law by President Goodluck Jonathan, GCON, F.AES, assures a capital expenditure by the Federal Government of N1.85 trillion or $12.35 billion. In addition, many States have ambitious capital budgets for the year. To harness the opportunities accruable from the afore-mentioned, active and prospective contractors require guidance in accessing this burgeoning market.

CONTENT
The training is designed to equip AES members and the general public on the intricacies of public procurement, contract bidding and execution. The training will address the following:
• The procurement regime requirements expected of a contractor
• The roles of Bureau of Public Procurement and the National Council on Public Procurement
• The processes provided under the Public Procurement Act 2007 for public procurement of goods    and services
• The position of the constitution and law of contract in relation to public procurement and    contracts
• How can participants in the procurement sector strategically take advantage of opportunities   provided by the Act?

• Bank officials involved in Public Sector Finance, Credit Packaging and Risk Management
• Officials of various ministries and parastatals involved in public procurement
• Construction Companies
• Quantity surveyors, purchasing and Supplies Manager, Project Managers.

Date: August 26th - 27th, 2010

Time: 9.00 AM - 3.00 PM daily

COURSE FEE: N30, 000 per participant
